A family painting business serving Hobart since 1994

Performance Painting is a family-owned and operated Hobart painting business established by my father, Brian Holden, in 1994.

Brian built the business around straightforward values: turn up when you say you will, prepare the job properly, respect the customer’s property and complete work you are proud to put your name to.

Today, I continue the business with those same principles at the centre of everything we do.

Growing up around the painting industry gave me an early understanding of what separates a lasting, professional result from a quick coat of paint.

Preparation, communication and attention to detail have always mattered…….They still do.

While products, equipment and painting systems have changed over the years, the expectations we place on ourselves have remained consistent. We believe customers should know who is working in their home, what is being done and how the project is progressing.

How It Works

1. We’ll organise a time to inspect your site, and will email you to confirm and remind you of the date and time.

2. At the inspection, we’ll have a chat with you to find out exactly what you’re after, as well as take all of the relevant information needed to prepare your obligation-free quote.

3. Within 24 hours, we’ll send you a detailed, itemised quote that presents and describes everything that we’ll do on the job. This can include a complimentary professional colour consultation, valued at $350 should you choose to work with us.

4. Once accepted, we’ll take an initial deposit and book in a time for our team to start.

5. We’re committed to finishing what we start—every time in a timely manner.

6. Once the job is complete, we’ll issue an invoice. If you, or any of your family and friends require our services or have any questions whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to get in touch again.

Performance Painting have just painted my ceiling in the lounge room and three cupboards plus the walls and window frames in the kitchen. A brilliant job has been completed! The work done has been done so well. It is a 1915 home, so the detail was not easy, and it was done beautifully.

Luke and the team at Performance Painting are the best painters in Hobart. They have completed several jobs for us over the years: a full exterior repaint on a 1950s weatherboard house, almost a full interior repaint, picket fence, and deck. Luke has always been great to deal with - friendly, knowledgeable, skilled and reliable. The quality of their work is impeccable with great attention to detail, and such a clean job site. Highly recommend, these guys are fantastic!

Luke and his team have just finished an exterior painting project on our heritage listed cottage in South Hobart. Performance Painting were recommended to us by friends who were impressed by their professional manner and highly skilled workmanship. We are absolutely thrilled with the painting they did for us, from the very prompt and detailed quote Luke provided, the brilliant colour matching he arranged for the lime wash and particular unnamed shade of heritage green we wanted for windows and front door, to the exceptional quality of their work. It was a very enjoyable experience having Luke and his team at our home. I highly recommend Performance Painting.

I found Luke of Performance Painting through Dulux Preferred Painters. He was so professional in his on line and phone communication.His quote was delivered in a timely fashion and was competitive with others I received. Luke has now completed the work as quoted, and it has been performed to the high standard I expected. It was finished in the time frame advised and the cleanup following job completion was much appreciated, especially the re-placement of furniture. I highly recommend Luke for any painting required.

We found Luke and his team to be punctual, diligent and professional. We were quoted for 9 or 10 days for the whole exterior of our weatherboard home and the job was completed in 9 days. Can recommend.

Performance Painters recently completed much needed painting inside our home. We are totally delighted with their workmanship and our home has become fresh and a pleasure to live in. The job was long overdue and involved most rooms in the house - including the large living space. The home is fifty-four years old and was showing its age. Now it is smiling and the energy is sparkling. The crew involved were expert painters, most respectful and totally focussed on the job at hand. There is obviously total trust between management and the painters and ‘only the best’ work will be done. Communication between all involved was maintained appropriately at all times. We have already recommended their business to another home improvement company which is carrying out house improvement for us.
